We are not a crisis service and do not work directly with people experiencing mental health crisis. We will always signpost those who are in mental health crisis on to the NHS Mental Health Teams and Suicide Crisis in Cheltenham. Click HERE for contact information in a mental health crisis.

We know that the shock and devastation experienced after suspected suicide loss, clouds all thought processing and judgement. You may not fully take in or comprehend what is being said or done.

We recognise that those left behind will experience an array of emotions and feelings. Often the circumstances of the loss will be complex and traumatic having a profound affect on their lives. There may be questions unanswered, things left unsaid and a feeling of guillt. This can often haunt those left behind as they try to make sense of what has happened.

Loss by suicide can feel isolating. It is a lonely path to walk and one which can lead people to their own feelings of sadness, depression and suicide.

We do not want you to walk this path alone. We will walk alongside you and support you on this journey.

We accept self referrals from anyone who is currently living in Gloucestershire that has been bereaved by suspected suicide.

We have supported:

  • Immediate Family

  • Wider Family

  • Friends

  • Colleagues

  • Neighbours

We have a designated liaison officer who can make contact with those bereaved, to determine what support they may wish to receive.

  • We tailor the support we offer to individual needs.
  • We provide email, telephone or face to face support
  • We also act as a signposting service to help those bereaved to find further professional support and guidance.

We also provide training in suicide intervention and awareness. ASIST and safeTALK are both accredited through Livingworks.

Bereavement Support

We are members of Support After Suicide Partnership. We offer various support services to people living in Gloucestershire who have been bereaved by a suspected suicide

We deliver LivingWorks accredited training in suicide awareness and suicide intervention skills. We also tell our story and the learning points.

We are part of Gloucestershire Suicide Prevention Partnership and the National Suicide Prevention Alliance and we run regular campaigns and initiatives to raise awarness.

We host fundraising and awareness events as well as bereavement events to bring the community together and let others know it is koay to smile again.

Our services are only possibly because of the support of our generous donors.

We would like to thank all who have helped fund our cause in 2021.
