NICE Guidelines Encourage Peer Support

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recognizes the importance of peer support after suicide loss. It promotes social inclusion, reduces health inequalities, and helps individuals stay engaged in education and employment. Offering a wide choice of tailored support is recommended, either directly or through local partner organizations.

Why Peer Support Matters at Sunflowers

At Sunflowers, we understand that healing is often most effective when it happens alongside others who share similar experiences. Our Peer Support and Social Groups bring together individuals who have been bereaved by suicide. Spending time with people who genuinely understand the depth of despair, confusion, guilt, and grief can significantly reduce feelings of isolation.

Our Peer Support Groups
Our peer support groups are open to all Sunflowers registered families, and there's no requirement to attend every session. We offer a variety of informal and relaxed settings to help you build strong and lasting support relationships with others who "get it."
