​

  • Gloucestershire Based (on site in Stonehouse with community-based working)

  • Part-time (flexible working required, including some evenings and weekends)

 

Are you a people person who thrives on building relationships, telling powerful stories, and making a real difference?

 

We are looking for an Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team at Sunflowers. This is a vital role at the heart of our fundraising and awareness work.

 

If you are looking for a behind-the-scenes design or content job, this isn’t the right fit. This role is front-facing, people-focused, and community-driven. You will be out meeting supporters, engaging with businesses, attending events, and representing Sunflowers with confidence, compassion and energy.

 

About the Role

You will play a key role in delivering our marketing and communications activity while actively engaging with the community to grow awareness, support, and income.

 

From managing social media and creating compelling content, to attending events and building relationships with partners and supporters — no two days will look the same.

 

You’ll play a key role in increasing income, strengthening our presence across Gloucestershire and beyond, and ensuring our message reaches those who need it most.

 

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is not only a strong communicator, but also passionate about engaging people and building connections.

 

You will:

  • Have a can-do attitude and be self-motivated

  • Be confident in engaging with a wide range of audiences, both online and in person

  • Have experience creating compelling content for digital platforms

  • Be proactive in growing and improving engagement across channels

  • Be comfortable working independently and using your own initiative

  • Be organised and able to manage a varied workload, including admin tasks

  • Be compassionate and passionate about our mission in suicide prevention

  • Be flexible and willing to support events, including evenings and weekends when required

 

Most importantly, you’ll enjoy getting out, meeting people, and making an impact through both communication and engagement.
