The Greatest Sunflower Ball - 18th May 2024
Press Release: The Greatest Sunflowers Ball - A Night to Remember and a Triumph for Suicide Support
Tortworth Court, 18 May 2024 was abloom with hope and solidarity as we celebrated the Greatest Sunflowers Ball in aid of Sunflowers Suicide Support. The evening was an astounding success, raising a remarkable £12,272 in profit, all of which will go directly towards supporting Sunflowers Families.
Words fall short in expressing our deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this event unforgettable. From our dedicated sponsors and generous donors to every attendee, your support has been invaluable. Our heartfelt thanks also go to our passionate and committed team who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life.
A special thank you to our main sponsor, BituChem, not only for their financial support but for unwavering encouragement over the past few months. Thier presence and backing have been a pillar of strength for us.
We extend our gratitude to Elmrep - Copiers Printers Scanners for sponsoring the evening's entertainment, which provided an extraordinary lineup of fun and enjoyment.
Our partnership sponsors, Take Five Healthcare, Hooray Recruitment, and Gas and Liquid Controls, also deserve special recognition for joining us on the night and supporting our cause.
The evening's entertainment was nothing short of spectacular. Tommy and The Fuse delivered an electrifying performance that had everyone dancing.
H Dance Collective, a local dance school, graced us with two wonderful dance acts and enchanting singing as guests arrived.
A highlight of the evening was Jasmine Sweetland, who amazed everyone with her stilt-walking and fire-breathing, adding a magical touch to the event. Jasmine also choreographed a heartfelt dance with Sunflowers CEO's daughter, Esther, who performed a poignant tribute to her uncle Pete. Accompanied by a slideshow of touching images, this performance moved everyone to tears, culminating in an applause that lifted the roof.
Our gratitude also goes to By Jiminy Magic, who dazzled guests with his captivating magic, and to our incredible face painter from Party Party Gloucester, who offered her beautiful artistry free of charge.
We are thankful to all our supporters who generously donated raffle and auction prizes, including Gloucester Brewery, artist Araminta Fogden, Henrietta Charlotte Aesthetics, Michael Tuck Estate and Letting Agents in Gloucester, Mears Group, Supernova Celebrant, Brickhampton Golf, Oxstalls Plumbing, Nikki Budding, and Aitch and Aitch Bee.
A special mention to our official photographer, Stephen Bell, for capturing the evening's magic. A selection of photos from the night can be viewed on his website: Stephen Bell Photography. (Photos are copyright to Stephen Bell.)
On the evening, Sunflowers CEO, Abbie Warren, poignantly reminded guests why we were gathered. Sharing photos of loved ones lost to suicide, Abbie highlighted the rising suicide rates since 2020 and the profound heartbreak left behind for families. She also noted the increase in referrals to Sunflowers and the new provisions to support children and young people.
Once again, thank you to everyone who made the Greatest Sunflowers Ball a night to remember. Your support is a beacon of hope for all Sunflowers Families.
