Glimmer of Light
a reflective evening to mark World Suicide Prevention Day 2024
Sunday 15th September
6.30pm - 8.30pm
Join us for a poignant gathering, "Glimmer of Light 2024," as we come together to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. This event offers a quiet and respectful space for remembrance, solidarity, and healing, so you're not alone in your thoughts. We'll watch the sunset together, and each of us will have the opportunity to light a lantern, symbolizing our commitment to illuminate the darkness surrounding suicide. Children are welcome, but please be mindful that this is an emotive event designed to open the conversation about suicide.

Event Highlights:
-
A Time of Reflection: Take a moment to pause and reflect on the lives lost to suicide and the impact it has on individuals and communities worldwide.
-
Together in Silence: We will gather in a moment of silence, standing united in our determination to prevent suicide and support those affected.
-
Sunset Watch: As the sun sets on the horizon, we'll witness the beauty of nature's transition, reminding us that even in the darkest moments, there is hope for a new day.
-
Lighting the Darkness: Each participant will have the opportunity to light a lantern, symbolising our collective effort to bring light and hope to the issue of suicide.
-
A Safe Space for Conversation: While this event may be emotionally charged, it's also a platform to discuss suicide openly, share experiences, and explore ways to support those in need.
-
Creative Expression: If you would like to contribute to the evening's atmosphere with a poem, a story, or a song from our playlist that holds significance for you, please reach out to us. Your words and emotions are valued.
